Currency:
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the convertible mark (KM or BAM) is used. EUR-BAM conversion is 1.00 EUR = 1.95583 BAM. In most establishments, payment is made in cash or by bank card. Euros are not accepted in most facilities.
Money Exchange
Most places don't accept foreign currencies, so it's a good idea to exchange money for local currency. Also, although in most places you can pay by card, it is still a big practice to pay in cash. We do not recommend changing money at the airport as it can be expensive. You can change money in the official exchange offices located near the hotel where you are staying, or in the city center. It is best to bring euros or dollars with you, which you can exchange for local currency.
Public transportation
In Sarajevo, the most popular public transport is the tram. The tram connects all parts of the city and runs in a circle through the whole of Sarajevo. We recommend that you have a valid ticket for each ride. You can buy a ticket when entering the tram from the driver and it costs 1.80 KM or 0.90 EUR.

Safety and security
There are currently no major concerns regarding safety and security, especially in Sarajevo. However, as in most tourist destinations around the world, petty crime—such as pickpocketing and purse snatching—does occur in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in large urban centers like Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Tuzla, and Mostar. Criminals often target foreigners in crowded tourist areas and on public transportation.

Why organizing FAEEN meeting in Bosnia and Herzegovina?
First aid in the Red Cross Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a key activity that funds 80% of its operations. In many local organizations, it is the only source of income. Currently, legal frameworks and laws in Bosnia and Herzegovina stipulate that only the Red Cross can conduct first aid training for drivers; however, the frameworks for workplaces and commercial first aid in general are not well-regulated. Additionally, the mandate for public events is also questionable. Many laws are currently changing, and the Red Cross is not always included in proposing and creating new ideas. Given that we are a small national society, support through advocacy is always welcome. We believe that this event could help the Red Cross Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the advocacy process, gaining recognition from the authorities, and improving its positioning to ensure that first aid remains within the mandate of the Red Cross and that the organization is recognized as significant in the field of education at all levels. Additionally, most volunteers come through the first aid program, and this will represent a significant motivation for them. Through the organization of the event, we would also offer a session on "Best Practices," where the RCSBH would present the system for organizing first aid competitions in primary and secondary schools.
